How to cover stains and hairline cracks on ceilings

1. Cover furniture and carpets.

2. Ensure the surface is clean, dry and sound. Seal bare and porous surfaces with a plaster repair sealer such as Polycell 3 in 1 Problem Wall Primer.

3. If there’s a bit of plaster repair to be done, fill in any cracks larger than the hairline with Polycell Multi Purpose Polyfilla or Polycell Advanced Polyfilla before applying.

4. Stir Polycell Crack-Free Ceilings before use then pour into a roller tray for easy roller loading.

5. Use a short pile roller (up to 5mm, 3/16) for best results on smooth ceilings.

6. Apply evenly and avoid overspreading.

7. Polycell Crack-Free Ceilings can also be applied with a brush. Just load generously and avoid overspreading.

8. Touch in corners, edges and around light fittings with a small brush.

9. The surface will be touch-dry after 2-3 hours.

10. A second coat may be applied once the first coat is fully dry (overnight).

11. Remove any splashes immediately before they dry.

12. After use, replace the lid to preserve the remaining product. Many local authorities have special facilities for disposing of waste paint. Do not empty into drains or watercourses.

13. Remove as much product as possible from brushes and rollers before washing in warm water.
