How to create a waterproof seal around doors and windows

I've had some new uPVC patio doors and windows fitted, but there is a gap between them and the surrounding brickwork. The best solution is to use Polycell Sealant Exterior cartridges to achieve a continuous waterproof seal around the edges of the frames.

Step by step process

    First , remove any loose materials and brush out the debris.

    Next, fit a Polycell Sealant Exterior cartridge into a skeleton gun and slice the nozzle at a 45 degree angle to produce a thick enough bead to seal the gap. Now, squeeze the gun trigger to start the flow and, pushing the gun nozzle forward, run a continuous bead along the length of the gap.

    Finish off with a round-ended stick or similar tool and wipe away any excess with a damp cloth before it dries, normally in about six hours.
