How to seal a sink

You have an ornate sink that needs sealing and youre worried because it looks like a fiddly job

Step by step process

    Remove any old sealant by painting on Polycell Sealant Remover and leaving the area to dry for 10 - 15 minutes. The old sealant will now be soft and malleable enough to remove.

    Ensure the sink is clean, dry and free from mould.

    Work the tube of Squeeze and Seal well between your fingers until it feels more malleable.

  4. Step 4

    Use a knife to cut the nozzle to the required width (max 6mm), cut the tube seal and attach the nozzle.

  5. Step 5

    Squeeze the tube and apply the sealant to the gap in a continuous line try to do it in one smooth movement if possible. Once complete, smooth the sealant using a wet, round-ended tool, or even with a wetted fingertip for ease. For best results, shape the sealant or bead - at an angle as this will help shed water.

    Remove any excess sealant with a damp cloth before it dries, then leave to cure.
