How to fill a crack in an exterior wall

Task difficulty: Very easy

There is a large crack in your outside wall which needs filling, fast!

You will need

Step 1

Ensure the wall and the crack are dry and free from loose material.
Step 2

Knead the tube or stir the Polyfilla in the tub until it is creamy in consistency.
Step 3

Apply to the crack with a filling knife and smooth-off with a wet knife
Step 4

If the crack is deeper than 10mm, build up in layers, leaving to dry between applications. The area can be sanded down to a smooth finish once fully dry. If several layers are required it may be quicker to mix up Polycell Multi Purpose Exterior Polyfilla powder with water, and fill any depth in one application.
