How to cover a dent in the wall

A door handle has left a dent in a wall and you want to fill it so that it's no longer visible.

Step by step process

    Ensure that the area to be filled is dry and free from loose material.

    Work the ready mixed tube of Polycell Quick Drying Polyfilla between your fingers until it feels more malleable. Remove the cap and carefully cut the top off the nozzle with a sharp knife.

    Squeeze the Polyfilla directly into the dent and level off with a filling knife. If the dent is deeper than 5mm, youll need to build it up in layers - allowing it to dry in between.

    The filler will dry in about 10 minutes you can then sand lightly if required to get a smooth surface ready for over painting.

    Remember to install a doorstop to prevent the damage occurring again!
