How to cover an area of stained wall

Task difficulty: Very easy

You want to cover felt tip pen, damp or water stains on an area of wall and stop them from reappearing.

If the stains are caused by damp or water, make sure that the original cause of the problem has been rectified before treating the area.
Step 2

Ensure the wall is clean, dry and free from loose material before applying any Polycell.
Step 3

Shake the Polycell One Coat Stain Stop Aerosol for one minute - you will hear the steel pellet rattling inside.
Step 4

Wearing eye protection, spray the aerosol evenly over the stain from a distance of 20 - 30 cm until it is fully covered.
Step 5

One Coat Stain Stop dries in around 10 minutes, after which time a second coat can be applied if required.
Step 6

Once the stain has been disguised, paint over it with an emulsion of your choice. If you choose to over paint with a gloss or eggshell paint, prime the treated area first with a water-based paint.
