Just one tile in my bathroom has been damaged by a jar falling out of a cupboard. I've got a spare tile, but how do I replace it?
You will need
Step by step process
-
Step 1
A marked or cracked ceramic tile looks unsightly, but it's not a difficult job to fit a new one. First, using a chisel and a mallet, carefully knock out both the damaged tile and the old dry adhesive from the wall. Remember that safety spectacles or goggles should always be worn for jobs like this.
-
Step 2
Apply Polycell Fix & Grout to the back of the replacement tile with a notched flexible spreader. Push the new tile into place, making sure the surface is level with the surrounding tiles.
-
Step 3
Once dry, use the spreader to push Polycell Fix & Grout into the gaps around the tile, before wiping off excess with a sponge.
