Skirting Board

Problem:
The skirting boards have split away from the wall forming a noticeable gap and cracks have appeared where the boards meet, causing the paint to flake off.

Fix it with:
Squeeze and Fill Polyfilla , Fine Surface Polyfilla

You can do it:
Sand the old painted surface down with fine grade glasspaper. Rake out any old or flaking paint/filler from the gap between the board and the wall, then run a line of Squeeze and Fill Polyfilla along the gap. Now, use a wet, rounded end tool (an old spoon handle or a lolly stick is perfect) to smooth the surface. Remove the excess with a damp cloth and leave to dry.

Next, using a flexible filling knife, smooth Fine Surface Polyfilla over the surface of the skirting board, pressing it in well. Leave to dry, rub down lightly with fine sandpaper, then re-paint.
